About Me

It is very important for me to tell compelling, interesting, exciting stories. Good reporting lends itself to going the extra mile and finding special facts in the field that other reporters may not be able to find.
I am a convergence journalist having skill sets in shooting photos, video, recording audio. I also have web experience across various media platforms.

Through my work in different newsrooms, I know how to put together different types of media to tell a story in several different ways. I am proficient in many programs, including: Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Audition, Flash and Illustrator; Soundslides, Textwrangler; basic html; Apple's iWeb, iMovie and Final Cut; Avid, X-Timeline, MPEG Streamclip, Fotomagico and Active Content Manager.
I am currently a journalism senior at the University of Missouri. My emphasis is in convergence/multimedia and broadcast. Graduation date: Spring 2009.

I hold a degree in acting from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. I was a professional actor in New York City for five years. The American Academy of Dramatic Arts has given me a strong foundation in performance, voice and speech, memorization and improvisation. These skills are very useful when reporting and anchoring. My knowledge of theater and film are also beneficial when telling artistic stories.
Backpack
This is my life line. One of the essentials of a back pack journalist is a backpack full of equiptment to help assist in the field.

Journalist's Creed...

"I believe in the profession of journalism. I believe that the public journal is a public trust; that all connected with it are, to the full measure of their responsibility, trustees for the public; that acceptance of a lesser service than the public service is betrayal of this trust.
